Hello everyone, DarkWolfWavius here and it's time for another rant.
So what will I be talking about today? Crossovers in TPI's(sort of, but I will get to that in a bit).
Now a Crossover should be self-explanatory but since I need a transition into my first point, Crossovers are moments in a show where the creator decides to include a character from another series and put them into their show.
Now the idea of Crossovers isn't a new concept, in fact this shit has been done for decades. However, the problem I have with this concept is when these Crossovers become permanent(IE: Becoming a contestant) and or, they mention a lot of events from the other person's series.
When I watch someone's TPI, I expect to watch a TPI with this guy's characters, stories, etc. But when a TPI has contestants from other people's TPI's and makes them contestants, it no longer becomes a TPI but rather, a circus. If you want to do a crossover with someone else's show, fine, but make that its own show at least.
Now that I've talked about the idea of bringing in contestants from other people's shows, it's time to discuss the 2nd part of this rant. References to events from the other person's show.
This argument is a double-edged sword because while some people will get the reference, not everyone will watch that other person's show so they won't understand the reference. This especially happens when a couple on one person's TPI is composed of people from different series. How the fuck did they hook up? You showed how the other characters hooked up, so why not these two?
"Well you gotta watch the show first!"
NO! I shouldn't have to watch some other person's show to understand how these two hooked up. If you're going to make this couple canon in your series and you showed how the other characters hooked up, then show how they hooked up!
Okay, rant over... For TPI's...
Now I want to talk about something that's been bugging me for a bit and this was what inspired this rant. The Emerald Chronicles Fan Character Stories.
More specifically, the chapters that have characters from other people's stories showing up for no reason.
As I said before, if you want to have a crossover with someone else's character that is not romantically or physically related to your Fan Character(even then, you need to explain how that happened in your story), then just make that its own story because when I click on <insert FC name here> 's story, I expect to read a story about THAT character.
Hell, that might actually work out for the better if your FC and the FC you do a crossover with have different enough personalities and viewpoints
And for those who say it can't work:
A man based off Kung-Fu movies and a man based off Blaxploitation films together in one book. Arguably more popular than their initial solo books.
Another very successful book back when it came out because of Hal Jordan and Oliver Queen's differing personalities, as well as other things .
A guy from the future who wants to kill a God and a Mercenary who breaks the Fourth Wall constantly. Nuff said
Also Avengers
So ya, this concept can work , and I do recommend it since it can be fun depending on who you're doing a crossover with.
But before I go, I'll let you know what Emerald Chronicles FC stories I have read . (If I don't mention you, it's because it either came out after this, wasn't added to the Emerald Chronicles group, or it didn't pop up in my search "ZutzuCrobat55" (Newest First) )
Susan Maria(): I am reading this series because I genuinely like it and it also inspired me to make my own FC
<da:thumb id="559547348"/>
Sam( ): I am also reading this because I think it's interesting(though it does have several spelling mistakes)
I have also read 's first chapter, but I heard it got canned
Takuya( ): I started reading it but then I stopped after Chapter 2 because of the plagiarism from Susan Maria's story. (No joke, read the first chapter of Takuya's story and then Susan's. )Now I did hear this got fixed, but I haven't gone back due to College.
<da:thumb id="559877958"/>
Myko Rovin(): Haven't read yet but I did hear good things about it
Now as I said before, if I didn't mention your story, it wasn't intentional. I just couldn't find it.
But that's about it for today. What is your opinion on Crossovers Let me know in the comments below.
Take care

A few hours had passed since Venusaur’s elimination and the alliances went their separate ways to discuss their next course of action, except for Gogoat, who went over to Team Galaxy’s area. “I guess now is the opportunity to take action.” He pressed his ear against Empoleon’s room to check if anyone was inside and sure enough, it was silent. “Perfect.” Gogoat whispered. “I’ve waited long enoug

7 Times I Ended my TPI :P
Since 2009, I have been doing Total Pokemon Island videos as a low-quality hobby while I do bigger things on my channel. But with this year marking the end of my run(again), I decided to go over the other instances of me ending my Total Pokemon series throughout these 9 years. Some of these may be a surprise for my TPI fans, others may not. Let's begin.
1)Total Pokemon the Musical
My fourth season of the original TPI series took the contestants around the world and competing for whatever money. My initial plan for this season was that after it was done, I would go on to do a series based around the next generation of these characters. So wh

Despite our respective blunders with crossovers I'm glad we're collaborating on a video in the near future.
